Unabridged Audiobook
Metaxas told me once he was a wordsmith and in this book he goes a little berserk. I love that he reads it and sings, speaks in both Greek and German and his imitations of his relatives speaking broken English made me howl. His life is fascinating and made me feel a little like I had lived a vanilla life myself. Some of his childhood feelings brought back ones of my own. I highly recommend this book. It made me laugh out loud but also made me sad. Many of us growing up in the 50's, 60's and 70's were so deceived about our culture. We went along with the crowd and look back now in horror. Now that the country is a mess, some of us can see our part in it. We need to get to work... I see Mr. Metaxas doing his part. If he is speaking anywhere in your area, go listen to him, then meet him. He appears to be a tender soul, genuine and kind. God has blessed you sir and it is gratifying to see how you are using your gifts. Big fan in Carmel, Ca
I loved this audiobook! I was totally captivated. I am so looking forward to reading his next book that will start where this one left off. I feel I’ve been privileged to get to know the author through his honesty and vulnerability and want to hear more about his life and his subsequent adventures with God!
