Unabridged Audiobook
It’s amazing. I’m in my mid 30’s and learning about boundaries. Thank you Lysa!
I do first off when I say that I very sorry that she did have to go through. What she did, and what happened, was wrong on her ex's part. However, I've read this book three times as I'm encountering a difficult time in my marriage also; I have shared it with pastoral counseling and I have shared it with marriage counseling and it weighs heavy on my heart to be sure that others are aware of the false teachings that are in this book there is Biblical teaching in it. However, one can easily slip into false teaching if they do not share all of the scripture, just portions of verses. There are many good examples in here that we as Christians do need to be aware of when it does come to friendships and family relationships. However, there's a lot of scripture false teaching in here that in a marriage that hasn't gone through what the author herself did, do not stand valid. Also I do not think that having just come through a tragic divorce herself that within such a short period of time afterwards it is quite appropriate to write a book to help others; it's like a new believer should not go and engage in ministry right away. Our Lord's word even tells that there is much more that I can say there is positive in the book but there is harm in the book. I think every situation is unique, and a person needs to evaluate that in themselves in the word in pastoral care and marriage counseling. Unfortunately, there are a lot of individuals - men and women - that have been drawn to this book. Marriages that could have been saved because everyone needs to turn from sin. I'm not a pastor, I'm not a theologian, I'm just a fellow Christian. I am a man who has endured 20 years of an abusive marriage myself. It was helpful to have a woman's perspective on it, however once again, first and foremost is God's word
Had no clue this was a religious text .. ugh
I absolutely loved this book. I read it twice then got it on audiobooks. I love that Lysa Terkeurst actually reads the book & her therapist Jim Cress reads as well. You feel like you are sitting with them listening to them. I spoke to me so much more clearly when Lysa was reading it to me!
Amazing! She is an amazing author and so candid. Real. Holy. And on time.
I’m so thankful for this book, her honesty transparency and love for others and Christ. Explained so well about boundaries and good byes
