Relationships are wonderful . . . until they're not. Stop the dysfunction of unhealthy relationships and learn biblical ways to set boundaries--and, when necessary, say goodbye.

Is it unloving or selfish to set a boundary with family members or friends? Are Christians ever called to walk away from a relationship that's no longer safe or sustainable? #1 New York Times bestselling author Lysa TerKeurst deeply understands these hard questions in the midst of relational struggles.

After thousands of hours of counseling intensives and extensive theological research that transformed the way she defined healthy relationships, Lysa is now more committed than ever to loving people well without losing the best of who she is.

In these pages, Lysa will help you:

- Understand the five factors to remember when implementing healthy boundaries.
- Determine the appropriate amount of personal and emotional access someone has to you.
- Stop being misled and emotionally paralyzed by wrongly interpreted or weaponized Bible verses that perpetuate unhealthy relationships.
- Be equipped with effective boundary-setting tools, such as realistic scripts and practical strategies for healthier communication.
- Be empowered to say goodbye without guilt when a relationship has shifted from difficult to destructive.
- Receive therapeutic wisdom you can trust directly from Lysa's Christian counselor Jim Cress, who weighs in throughout the book.

You'll be relieved to learn that boundaries aren't just a good idea, they're a God idea.

It’s amazing. I’m in my mid 30’s and learning about boundaries. Thank you Lysa!

I do first off when I say that I very sorry that she did have to go through. What she did, and what happened, was wrong on her ex's part. However, I've read this book three times as I'm encountering a difficult time in my marriage also; I have shared it with pastoral counseling and I have shared it with marriage counseling and it weighs heavy on my heart to be sure that others are aware of the false teachings that are in this book there is Biblical teaching in it. However, one can easily slip into false teaching if they do not share all of the scripture, just portions of verses. There are many good examples in here that we as Christians do need to be aware of when it does come to friendships and family relationships. However, there's a lot of scripture false teaching in here that in a marriage that hasn't gone through what the author herself did, do not stand valid. Also I do not think that having just come through a tragic divorce herself that within such a short period of time afterwards it is quite appropriate to write a book to help others; it's like a new believer should not go and engage in ministry right away. Our Lord's word even tells that there is much more that I can say there is positive in the book but there is harm in the book. I think every situation is unique, and a person needs to evaluate that in themselves in the word in pastoral care and marriage counseling. Unfortunately, there are a lot of individuals - men and women - that have been drawn to this book. Marriages that could have been saved because everyone needs to turn from sin. I'm not a pastor, I'm not a theologian, I'm just a fellow Christian. I am a man who has endured 20 years of an abusive marriage myself. It was helpful to have a woman's perspective on it, however once again, first and foremost is God's word

I absolutely loved this book. I read it twice then got it on audiobooks. I love that Lysa Terkeurst actually reads the book & her therapist Jim Cress reads as well. You feel like you are sitting with them listening to them. I spoke to me so much more clearly when Lysa was reading it to me!
