Summary
After Paul Stutzman lost his wife to breast cancer, he sensed a tug on his heart-the call to a challenge, the call to pursue a dream. With a mixture of dread and determination, Paul left his job, traveled to Georgia, and took his first steps on the Appalachian Trail. What he learned during the next four and a half months changed his life and can change yours as well.

In Hiking Through, you'll join Paul on his remarkable 2,176-mile trip through fourteen states in search of peace and a renewed sense of purpose. Along the way, you'll meet fascinating and funny people, experience trail magic, and discover that every choice we make on the path has consequences for the journey. More than that, you'll come away with a new understanding of God's grace and guidance, even in the smallest things.

Wow! I have read/listened to so many books about the A.T. and this is my favorite. I truly felt as though I were walking the trail with the author. I could feel, hear, see and smell at times it seemed. As for the religious parts, they could not have fit into the journey any better. I loved that part and feel as though iit has helped me to become closer to God. Thank you for this AMAZING book.

I truly enjoyed this book in its entirety and, as the author was not ready for the end of his journey, neither was I ready for the book to be over. His descriptions of the rigors of the trail certainly made me reconsider ever attempting a through hike of the AT. What meant the most to me though was his conversations with God as he went along. For me, I will read this book again in paper format, so that I can go back and ponder passages that were especially meaningful. Excellent read IMHO.
