Sad and powerful. What a strong girl/lady who survived this ordeal.

What a horrible situation to be in. I was on the edge of my seat listening to this story. To know the staff knew what it meant for the girls to have a "treatment" they had to be knowledgeable of the abuse taking place. Sadly the girls had NO ONE TO FIGHT FOR THEM.

Hard to get into at first just because I had to get used to the accent, but once that was settled it was detailed, shocking, and beautiful, she was such a strong child at such a young age and it’s amazing everything she accomplished. Very inspiring.

Very heart wrenching story. Quite repetitive throughout the book but I believe the author had to do this to illustrate the magnitude of what she experienced. Narrator was great.

Such a heart breaking story I couldn't stop listening. The abuse that Barbara suffered at the hands of people who were supposed to take care of her is beyond belief. She is such a strong woman and I hope her and the other survivors get justice.
