Abridged Audiobook
The narrator destroys what is otherwise an enjoyable book. Having already read the paperback version and then hearing the forced accents and lack of enthusiasm that the narrator displays puts a dampener the experience. It would be much better in an unabridged version also.
This is one of my favorite books, in am awesome series, by a very talented lady. Sadly, this version of the story is EXTREMELY abridged. There are a lot of plot points and details that have been taken out from the paper version, which is unfortunate since a lot of the story comes put sounding rushed and not well thought through. The narrator does a great job with what she has been given. Skip the audiobook and read the actual book. I'm giving the title high marks because it deserves them, but this version is a huge disappointment.
The book was good but I did not care for the narrator
Extremely poor narration of an abridged version - get the real deal elsewhere if you enjoy this fun, easy-read series.
The book is abridged and a lot of the development is gone. Same with the previous in the series. I would love to have them released as unabridged. Love the actress on screen, but not loving the narration here. It's well read but I could never get past the actress to the characters.
loved the book! love the series!!
Too short-this narrator’s voice just doesn’t flow well for the characters.
Too short and very boring. Not like other Janet Evonovich novels.
I wait with great anticipation to get a Janet Evanovich Audio Book. I know I will have a lot of laughs. This was not my favorite of the series but I still laughed and felt really happy listening to it. I missed Gramma. When they change a reader you do notice. It's like on a soap opera when they bring in a new actor to play a familiar character. Also the same when they make a character in the movie a blond when in the book the character what dark haired. You have your vision and it doesn't match. But a good story always transends these little things. And when your laughing you forget it all.
Not my favorite Plum story. I loved the romance with Joe, but the rest of the story was a bit disappointing - nothing special. But I'm not discouraged. I'll keep reading 'cause I love Plum stories. Just give me more action.
The story line was great, but this is the first Stephanie Plum book that I listened to that was not read by CJ Critt. I had a hard time "seeing the characters" in my head since the voice was different and definitely not as good as Critt.
So-so book . I never really got into it. Need to get another by this author before I decide if I like her or not.
This book has a different reader than the ones I have read before, so it is a little harder to get used to the characters. The story was still her usual funny stuff.
Disappointing. I have listened to some of the other books and enjoyed them. I found the narrator's voice very annoying!!
Typical Stephanie Plum novel. If you like the others, you will like this. As always, I was entertained.
This was my least favorite of the series. I adore Dabi Mazar, but she did not do this book justice. The reading was flat, completely unemotional as opposed to the typical intent of the character. I am not a fan of abridgements and this is a perfect example as to why. This is the first of all of the Janet Evanovich books that left me.... bored. Sorry!
I know people love this series and I've tried hard to, but just can't. The stories do not capture me from the beginning and I absolutly cannot stand to listen to the Reader's voice! I sent it right back without getting too far into the first disc. Sorry fans. . .
