Unabridged Audiobook
Good story more interesting in the beginning I struggled to finish listening the ending was disappointing
Great story! Exciting and well written. It would make a great movie. Excellent narrator.
If you like gore you’ll love this! Scary with slasher vibes
I was interested in this book because of the horror elements involving mermaids. It didn't really deliver on that. Every time something exciting happened it immediately went to a cut scene from someone else's perspective that wasn't involved in that scene. It also felt like there was a lot of reashing of info or too much detail that didn't help the story move forward. There was too much inner monologue and it made the story drag. Considering how much time we spent in the character's head's it made me like most of them less. I honestly only liked Tory, Olivia, and, Theo. They had the most relatable stories and the best characterizations. I felt like the author was more focused on the science and less on the telling of the story. The ending felt rushed and abrupt considering how much time the book spent out in the middle of the ocean not doing anything.
A suspenseful tale of underwater terror that does a good job of reminding us why we're afraid of the deep sea. I liked this book, but I do wish we had kept focus on the mermaids and their terror. The ending really let me down. Still, if you like reading about creatures from the deep, it is a great listen. The narrator did a great job.
Excellent story and a gripping end. Perhaps there was a bit too much background information of the characters, but once the story gets going you'll be completely hooked. It's very refreshing to use mermaids and the deep sea for the story, it's truly worth listening. I recommend listening to this title at 1.5 speeds if you find the narrator reading a bit slow.
This is a great book. It starts slow, but it has you wish the narrator to read faster to get to the next part. This is movie ready.
Good story that keeps moving. Mermaids make it a slightly different approach to Zombies and Vampires and makes for an interesting new approach to this genre. Fresh direction and worth a listen.
