Unabridged Audiobook
So, so good. I loved this one so much.
I really like this series I wish I had more to listen to. my workdays went by so fast while I listened to them. This narrator is my favorite! !
Cole is one of the best paranormal authors out there!!! Her whit in this series is to much. She had me laughing with all the sarcasm. The books are always steaming HOT! The intertwining characters is great too. I'm glad we get to see what's happening with the others in the lore, leading us into new story lines. Not to mention the by far best narrator! His voice is smoken HOT! Every book in this series is well worth the credit. To all sceptics just purchase the first book and see for your selves. Bon Appetite ;) !
Out of all the Immortals After Dark books, Kiss of a Demon King was the most disappointing. I had high hopes for Rydstroms story. I’ve liked him since the first time we met him. The problem with this book, for me, was Sabine. I feel like Rydstrom got shortchanged with his heroine. I hated her for most of the book. She was evil and vile and I had a hard time liking her by the end. She did eventually start to become likeable, but it felt like it was a little late. Kiss of a Demon King was a decent story, the writing was good, but for me the characters are the most important part of a book and I just didn’t connect. Still, Kresley Cole has brought me a lot of enjoyment with the series and I will continue.
Kiss of a Demon King is my favorite of the series so far! Kiss of a Demon King story runs parallel to that of the last book, Dark Desires after Dusk. We find out in Cade’s (Rydstrom’s bother) book (DDAD) that Rydstrom gets kidnapped. So when KDK starts we get to see that side of the story unfold with snippets of what Cade is up to on his side. If you’ve read the series up til now then you know that Cade is the “bad boy” brother of the two and Rydstrom is the straight lace brother. Always cool and knows what to do in the face of trouble. Rydstrom is the best King, always putting the needs of his people before his own. Much like other males in the Lore, Rydstrom has been dreaming of the day that he would find his mate. Someone to be by his side as his Queen. But he never thought she would be the sister of his sworn enemy. Sabine is the one that kidnapped Rydstrom in hopes of saving herself and her sister. She found out that she was fated to be his mate but never imagined what that really means. She just figured she could seduce him and get what she needs and then leave him high and dry. WRONG. Cole does a great job of sneaking in light BDSM elementals into this one. I think even people that has not read BDSM or think they would not like it would still find Rydstrom and Sabine’s sexual games of control very HAWT. I know I did. They both at different times have the other tied up and panting for more in order to torture the other one. I loved Sabine as the anti-heroine. Because of the way she was raised she is very selfish but by the end of the book she is the best Queen Rydstrom could hope for his people. Both characters grow throughout the book. Sabine learns it’s ok to show love towards others and Rydstrom gets the stick out of his ass and learns to let loose a little. Kiss of a Demon King is the case of opposite attract and in true Cole fashion it works and it’s totally hot with some humor through in. Review posted at http://thebooknympho.com/2013/07/2880/
