I enjoyed this book despite the schmaltzy and overly dramatic prose. I wouldn't expect anything much different from the author of Little Lord Fauntleroy. The narrator mispronounces a few things which was a little distracting but otherwise did a good job. If you like Jane Austen you will probably like this book (though it is definitely lighter fare).
