the story is fine, yes it's dated in some words, this is still a worth while read for any one into horror and it's roots.

I really like the story but I sincerely think someone else could take the idea and rewrite it better. It is also very, very dated in use of some language and heavy racism in the book. Loved the idea of an ancient white dragon worm, representations of evil and all that and some of the characterizations were good too but ultimately it lacked flair, character, detail and follow through on a lot of plot points. I don't regret listening to it as the narrators did a good job and the base story was pretty ok but I don't think I'll relisten to it in my lifetime.
