Unabridged Audiobook
I really enjoyed the first book in this series and was excited to listen to this second installment. It picks up right where the first book leaves off. Unfortunately there is a different narrator reading this book though, and she is very British. Since the characters are American FBI agents investigating murders along the Mississippi River I was disappointed. No effort was made to make the characters sound American in any way. It was very off-putting and made it impossible for me to listen and get into the story. If it wasn’t a series, maybe I could have ignored the inconsistency, but having just listened to the first book, my mind kept asking “why?” after every sentence. The narration was also very hurried.
Story line good was good and I’ll continue to listen to the rest of the series. My only issue was it sounded like it was being read by an AI and the book would have been better read by a real person.
Pretty good book but HATE the AI/fake narration…and with a British accent, where did that idea come from.
