Unabridged Audiobook
As with all of McCullough's books, this one does not disappoint. Never boring, exceptionally personal, and told with wisdom and great compassion for the extraordinary people who built the Panama canal. It truly was an awesome feat, an accomplishment for the ages, and something subsequent generations seem not to fully appreciate. I know I didn't. But after listening to this book, I find myself humbled by the creativity, passion, raw nerve, and sheer brilliance of the effort of that generation. Nelson Runger is the maestro of the nonfiction audiobook, just as much McCullough is the maestro of historical engineering stories. This one was a real pleasure, and well worth your time.
"Path Between the Seas' is an excellent tale of the people and nations that labored, oftentimes sacrificing their lives, for the canal that reached between the seas. Informative, well researched, and full of details that would normally be missed abound in this book. Narration was excellent, pronouncing the French names with ease, and most Spanish as well. Very well done.
this is one of the best books I have listed to
Excellent narration it was kind of difficult to get started but once we got going it flowed quite well, very informative and interesting. It kept my attention and had me wanting to go back to it continually to listen to the next concern or issue regarding the Panama Canal.
