Unabridged Audiobook
This is a good book. With an ending that I personally found very emotional. Great read to escape the everyday...
Wow! Food for thought
I'm halfway through the book, so my review may be removed. I will follow up with another once I'm done grinding through it. I just have to pause and write this, I want to scream it. At the very beginning, I was pleased with the narrator. I even looked him up, because he reminded me of some random voices in a few video games that I've played. His website mentions awards and accolades, and he offers coaching ad well. Im losing focus. My thoughts are drifting here and there. Who's speaking? Is this an inner thought, the girl, the father, the sister, himself? Johnny Heller is simply monotone and dreadful. I think his pacing is a bit too fast. For a coach, he doesn't respect the power of space between thoughts or scenes. He just goes and goes and goes and goes and goes and goes and goes and goes and goes and goes and goes and goes and goes and goes and goes and goes and goes and goes. I want to love this book. I will finish it, through clenched teeth. But I do not believe my opinion of this will change.
Boring, too many things that could/would/should happen aren’t in the story.
very entertaining book, and the narrator was good. Kinda humorous, kinda serious, makes you think about human nature.
The great social and cultural commentary I expect from good sci-fi, with enough dark humor and story movement so as to be a fun read, without getting bogged down by the pretentiousness that plagues many sci-fi and fantasy works. Narrator is excellent! Does a great job making characters distinct and recognizable without being cheesy.
