Unabridged Audiobook
Loved it. Forgot I read some of her books a long time ago. This was a pleasant suprise. Loved the story and the narrator
Gripping detective story that goes into details about the work of an M.E. I loved the different voices that the narrator did. As this was written 20 years ago, some of the concepts are a little dated. But still made an interesting story.
awesome story line. narrator is amazing with the characters. several great twists.
Book was ok. Didn’t like the comment about black women talking “white” because she spoken proper English. Not cool . But book was still ok but not a lot of drama.
So boring! The narrator was awful. I didn’t make it through the whole book.
I have read most of the Scarpetta series and am a fan. I haven't read the books in years so thought it would be good to listen to them again. I knew the characters and kind of remember the plots, but it was still so enjoyable to listen again. Patricia starts this series out very strong and she does great with details. I'm a huge fan also that she does her research and knows what she is writing about. The narrator is ok. She doesn't give the men strong voices though, they all sound weasely and weak. It does though sound like she smokes while reading and at times when the characters smoke she smokes along with them. Weather she is or not, I'm not a huge fan of it.
I really wanted to like this book-felt like I was supposed to like this book-but I did not. I didn't care for the narrator's "smoker's voice"-it tainted every character, including a little girl. I also felt that the ending was very anti-climactic with no brilliant revelations. I started to listen to the next book and just couldn't. I probably won't be listening to any more of this author's books-especially if the narrator is the same.
I really enjoyed this audiobook. The narration and plot were great.
Very well written
i really enjoyed this read!
I love Patricia Cornwell's writings. I like that she keeps her characters. There's always an air of mystery, conspiracy she's trying to work through. There's a growing net of suspicious players and the story gets more involved, flash backs have hidden clues. She's a smart women and knows when to play her cards to obtain the information needed to solve the problem. I really enjoyed listening to the audio.
I can't tell you how many times I've read "Postmortem," and it reads as good as it does the first time. I was reminded of my SQL and C classes when Lucy explained SQL to Kay--that is how it was explained to me! "You are programmer--you are god."
I love the Kay Scarpetta series from Patricia Cornwell. It keeps you on the edge of your seat until the very end. The narrator, C.J. Critt, is outstanding! she is my favorite by far out of any other narrator I've heard on any books I've listened to. I would definitely recommend this book!
It was very interesting. It kept my attention all the way through the book.
first time with this author and narrator and im going to listen to more by them both. I really enjoyed this book. im going to move to the second book now. I liked how real the medical side was and how the suspense was great. it had many twists and I must say I didnt see the end coming. I recommend this book author and narrator.
Great detective story with a medical twist. Really enjoyed this book and anticipate listening to the next one.
excellent read, Looking forward to the next.
Absolutely loved it! Great storyline.
A good book on tape to listen to at work to keep me awake.
I love this author and this series. Wish Audiobooks had all of her work.
I've read several of her books in the first part of this century, but now I decided to go back and read her novels in the Scarpetta series in order. This (Postmortum) had me convinced I knew the villain, but in the end I didn't. The surprise ending really was a surprise. The narration was also very good.
I loved it
