Unabridged Audiobook
The story was good, but you are left hanging on everything. There is not 1 loose end that is tied before the conclusion. What is he holding back...unsolved, what happens with the couple...unsolved, what about their parents or the company or the deal...unsolved, unsolved, unsolved. UGH! Very frustrating.
I listened to Protege King in audiobook format and loved it. The story grabbed me immediately, the main characters were so interesting and the narration animated. This is a second chance romance and I loved every minute. The narrators were perfect in this dual POV contemporary romance novel. The chemistry between the hero and heroine is explosive, and the story is well written. I would recommend this audiobook for lovers of contemporary romance and this format as a very enjoyable way to experience this book. I am voluntarily submitting this review after listening to an advanced complementary copy of this audiobook thanks to Netgalley and Tantor Audio.
LOVED! LOVED! LOVED! it. The book was good, but the audiobooks was an added bonus. Damion West is a handful and you can understand that this has always been the case from the 1st glimpse of him in a closet with Alana. He has it all money, a family empire to inherit and the looks and confidence to be a true lady killer. Alana, the true girl next door, she does not know all she brings to the table and is in love with Damion, but their friendship means smooch to her. As they grow up, they remain friends, however their parents seems to have a history that does not support their togetherness. leaving for college is a slap in the face for Alana and then a brief encounter in college leave a very sour taste for Alana. Does she truly understand what she means to him? What happens when they connect 10 years later blows her mind in more than one way. Great book one. Well developed and the story leaves you begging for more. Loved it.
