This is an outstanding book....but the Narrator doesn't do it justice. No emotion, no visceral nature, no kick in the groin....as it was intended to be read. If an Audiobook is going to be narrated on ANY Hunter S. Thompson book, article, novella or essay....the Narrator MUST be chosen with the Author in mind. Scott Sowers narrated Generation of Swine, Great Shark Hunt and other HST work in a FANTASTIC way that does it justice. Unfortunately Mr. Hillgartner just reads Proud Highway, instead of Narrating it.....very unfortunate. I'm sure he's a great man, fun and affable, has dozens of years experience, etc and so forth....but from a Consumer's perspective - who loves Audiobooks.com compared to thier competitors - its sad really.
