Well done! 5 stars. The reader understands the sometimes offbeat subtle humor of the author. You hear through the tone what the author expected his audience to hear.

The narrator sounds just like Mark Twain would have! I would never have expected this level of quality for a free book. Btw-this is a “Leebervox” recording, which you will not forget as they say it at the beginning and ending of each chapter. Kind of weird, but now I will search out their titles as this one was narrated with excellent. Plus the story is a hoot. Gives you a good idea of what Midwest America was like during this time, and done with Twain’s characteristic sarcasm. And hey who doesn’t love well-written sarcasm?

Too wordy. Sometime he tried to be witty and other times he was narrating actual experiences. It was hard to tell the difference,

Genius. Fantastic narration. His description of Morman women in Chapter 12 or 13 is the funniest thing in the book. I think Mark Twain is a must read for all.

Oh PLEASE do this over again but without the phony Mark Twain voice!! "YEE HAW, YESIRRE!!" Just listen to the beginning of each chapter: the narrator has this exaggerated inflection to try and capture Twain; but by the end of the chapter the narrator is obviously tired of working too hard and lapses into a normal, decent voice that is a pleasure to listen to. And then, the next chapter: "YEE HAW! I'M MARK TWAIN, with a pint of spit in my throat to prove it!" Unlistenable. Please do it over again with a normal, believable voice.
