Unabridged Audiobook
I liked this book overall. I found the juxtaposition of a tattooed, lesbian nun and the misogynistic, hetero-normative religious environs interesting. The author is quite fond of lengthy metaphors and verbal tangents but it worked for my long drives through the desert every day.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I was completely infused with Sister Holiday’s personality. I can’t remember the last time I was so conflicted about a protagonist in a novel. She is so so flawed yet so worth rooting for (gunning for). She represents our worst impulses when we are not able to be in control yet our best deeds when we believe in something bigger than us. I was hooked on the intriguing plot to the end. I can’t wait for the next instalment!!
