Unabridged Audiobook
Well done Harry. Excellent read. Hate him or like him, this book was well written. No stone left unturned. His truth. His word.
I think this is very well written, honest and raw. it takes courage to stand up and be honest about one's life in the public eye.
I highly recommend this book because it's not just heartbreaking beautiful written but also so inspiring.
Thank you for being so brave, honest, and kind to share your life, I am sure this book will help and inspire so many people to to be real human as you are my dear.
I really enjoyed this book. I have always found it astounding what the press gets away with across the pond. I am so glad Harry found his voice and can speak freely now. I also lost my mother young and really related to the way Harry processed his grief. His growth in this book is surprisingly relatable.
This book should be called “Whine”.
The way this book is getting review bombed by all the royalists with their panties in a twist is laughable. It's well-written, raw, and represents Harry taking his power back from the press. It's not perfect, but neither is he.
It’s like a poem. Raw, emotionally honest
Well written. I feel you Harry. Good for you for having the courage to break the toxic family cycle. Proud of you. Wishing you and yours the very best in love and happiness. Well done!
I must admit, despite its length, I could hardly press pause, only doing so to get some sleep over the three nights I listened to it. I suppose I wasn’t anticipating he’d share so much about his childhood trauma. The headlines made it sound like it was going to be all about the last 5 years of his life. But his own self introspection that he walked us through starting from a deep trauma far back he is looking to heal from is such a perfect place to start. As he learns how to heal from such deep trauma, it puts into perspective for himself (and the reader) the last few years of his life, and the choices he has made. I think it too easy to say “well if you don’t want the press hounding you, then stop putting things out there!” Well, I’d say he had a duty to himself - for his own growth in order to in turn be a better husband, a better father, a better human - to share his truth. It’ll be up to each reader to believe or not the content, his sincerity. I, for one, do.
Is there anything good in his life? They way he complains about every little thing that has occurred in his life is exhausting. Every single thing that has been done or said to him is a slight, or they are working against him and his wife. Newflash Harry- their are WAY more important things going on all over the world than you whining about this trivial immature crap. It literally sounds like a 4 year old tattling on someone. I’m having a hard time believing he is a war hero who has gone through such traumatic experiences and he is still worried and crying because of what his older brother did or got when they were children. Most get over sibling rivalries and fighting as teenagers maybe early 20s, but not Harry. Not only did my older sisters not speak to me at school, but if they did acknowledge me it was to knock by books out of my hand or something, and I also got that from their friends at school as well. It’s all NORMAL sibling behavior! I really wish he would get over his self importance thinking people actually want to read/hear this crap or even hear what he has to say in general, and most from what I’ve seen is people actually reading the book just to make fun of him. And he deserves it to do this to his family. It takes a really vile, angry, jealous and sad whinebag to actually air these “grievances” against his family in public and put in print. I couldn’t even finish listening to this, even at 1.5 speed.
Compelling prose. Powerful voice. Revealing and important story.
You can tell you actually listened to the book and who is writing bad reviews bc they don’t like M
In SPARE, I felt the struggle, loss grief pain anger jealousy hatred lack of love, and happiness in the FAMILY, I felt all that emotions, most of all wanting to be accepted and not feel less than others but William keeps reminding him he is the SPARE and the abusive attack from William. THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO HELP HIM ON THIS JOURNEY AND FOR MEGHAN STICKING IT OUT WITH HIM, AND THE MANY ANGELS WHO
Great read, some very sweet look backs about his mom.
well written! kudos Harry, only the Brave would be this candid
Honest, raw, thoughtprovoking, funny, brave. Very enjoyable.
Thank you for telling the truth!
A poetic and yet mundane retelling of a complicated story the entire world has held its breath to hear.
The courage and strength it takes to put your family first is what will save new generations from continuing generational trauma. We choose the lives we lead. Keep choosing family, love, and strength H
I grew up in the U.K. ,some of Harry’s stories were similar to mine ,my father telling me of my mother passing the story of thinking they were still alive to the dreams that felt real then the sadness of it not being true,I too lost myself as I was 11 when I lost my parents 3 weeks apart. This was a wonderful read ,great job Harry ,your words ,your truth and why the heck not! We are not living his life or how he felt but this ,this book gives us a glimpse, lives he narrates it .
He’s great at narrating. Thank you for sharing your story. Your voice is soothing. It was very well written, you painted a vivid picture.
Honest, raw, loving
There are people starving in the world while others are struggling on minimum pay & I have a friend who is on borrowed time as she is dying of the dreaded C word. Every time I speak to her she is incredibly positive & says she has no other option than to accept it & make the most of it. Regardless of what life hands us, let's look for ways to help others which stops us getting stuck in our own problems. A huge mansion with 16 bathrooms, hundreds of millions of dollars in the bank, healthy children, servants, expensive cars, butlers, private jets, need I go on? All that & you spend your time trashing your Family for money? Use your public platform to be a blessing in the lives of others instead!!
Everything about this book is eye opening. You feel as if you are standing by him as he makes his way through an obstacle course of life. My heart goes out to him and Megan. I wish him a long and happy life filled with love and peace.
very good
Loved it!
Wonderful and captivating!
Excellent read. Love Prince Harry. Very well written! Good job
Great book
Brave to speak your truth. Thanks for sharing
Wonderfully written and narrated. Thank you Harry for having the courage to tell your story.
Fantastic listen! So wonderful to hear Prince Harry’s point of view.
An astonishing listen that will leave anyone who has experienced loss, trauma, gaslighting, toxic family dynamics feeling heard and seen. An unexpectedly moving read.
What a journey for this man and his family. I have long despised the garbage that is spewed by fake journalist. I hope Prince Harry and his beautiful family live a long and happy life on our great USA!
Painfully disclosing. Well written. Hopefully articulating the life and challenges of being a Royal will give him peace.
Amazingly written!!! Can’t put it down gives you so much to think about and see who Harry is …love it
So beautiful to hear his side of the story from him. Great listen and great perspective. Thank you Harry.
Very interesting book - I feel for Harry - this sounds like a declaration of freedom from the constraints of the royal family and the horrible British press. Good for you Harry...
I loved this book. Honestly, autobiographies are just meant to be listened to so that you can hear the story from the person who lived it. It was clear and honest and heartbreaking. It was tough to know what to expect with all the media hype and hyperbole. In truth, this is simply his story to tell. He owns it. It's his perspective. It's not right that many have made money writing about he and Meghan's lives but people don't believe they have the right to have their perspectives and voices heard. I can't wait to see what is now possible with his newly found confidence. There are many exciting chapters still to live!
Beautifully written and read. Finally the real story.
Love this book, love his narration!! Prince Harry thank you! I never read, due to a learning disorder. But I have made it through half of the book and now subscribed to audio to listen while I drive. Thank you for sharing your story. You are SUPER talented mate!
I was skeptical about this book, but I really enjoyed it. The best parts were part 1 and 2. And I loved that it was narrated by Prince Harry himself.
A very touching memoir. It was nice to finally get an account of Harry's life, from Harry. He lived through a lot of sadness, but I'm so glad he found purpose through his pain. It was very funny at parts, and he came alive when he described his military service. You could tell how much that time meant to him. His love of Africa, and all things nature, was also evident. Above all, the love he has for his wife & kids seems to have filled him with the love that eluded him for most of his life. Harry narrated it perfectly, and the book was beautifully written.
Finally we hear Harry’s life experiences told in his own voice. His struggles will resonate with anyone who has ever disrupted toxic family systems and fought for solid ground. No human beings life should exist for public consumption.
So glad Harry wrote the book to help people learn how to be more tolerant of one another. The life that Harry lead has educated him to share the wisdom of what true leadership should be when ruled by the truth. Harry and Megan will do a lot of good in the world. I am proud of him and Megan. God Bless
Very well written and honest. Excellent read!
Excellent read! Very interesting!
The other side of the Royal Story. Very well written and narrated. Prince Harry’s story has really shifted my preconceived opinion of him. I have gained the deepest respect for the challenges that someone growing up under such intense public scrutiny must face. Well done sir!!
As a Veteran of OEF and OIF, I can relate to his experiences post deployment. It is also obvious to the reader that “H” loves his Father and Brother. The book is not towards the Royal Family. The book provide an opportunity for the Royal Family to change. Overall, great read. Please also donate to save the elephants and rhinos
Great read! Thanks for sharing your story.
An intimate look into Harry’s life. Heartbreak around every corner. One of those books you cannot put down and don’t want to end. I enjoyed every word!
A great listen, reveals normal family struggles but with the complications of being royal, I think Harry and Megan have done what’s best for them and their family, as hard as that seems to be for everyone, I believe they will all come back together in time with love and forgiveness all around!
Good Listen
Spare was a good audiobook! Prince Harry did a WONDERFUL JOB!!! I pray he and Megan finds peace amongst their wicked family! That Camilla is a sneaky B!
An incredible testimony. So much love, even when it’s hard, and not at all the vengeful storytelling many would have you believe. I am so happy that he has finally taken control of his circumstances and fate. I wish, him and his beautiful family a life full of peace and prosperity, loyalty and love. Thank you for sharing your remarkable story.
Well done. He should be proud of this.
I loved this book. It’s real honesty that deserves to be heard.
Such an awesome account of the Prince's life and struggles..... people think because ur privileged your life is perfect but money doesn't make ALL well...yeah u don't have to worry about money but what about ur mind and heart...such a strong man... so happy they found each other
Awesome!
Powerful book which is even more poignant listening to it in Harry’s voice. His story, his words his voice. I enjoyed it thoroughly.
The press in Britain is terrible! Glad Harry is a lovely husband and father now!
I thought this book was very well written and narrated. It was great to have Harry, himself, read the book. He is telling his story, which he fully has a right to do. I applaud him for telling his truth.
Very proud of you, Prince Harry. There comes a time when you have to say, "bugger it all," and live in your truth. I commend you
Absolutely beautifully written! Loved it.
Really liked this book.
What a touching heart felt story. It evokes so many sentiments… it reached down deep into my very core… Beautifully read. I loved loved loved this Book!! Thank you Prince Harry…
Well done Prince Harry so raw and very honest. His truth thank you for sharing.
Best Book. Best Narrator.
loved this. well done harry. i totally support what he and meghan had to do in order to protect their family.
Honest, brave and beautifully written.
Loved the book. Loved the prose; smooth and conversational. From the Netflix series and this memoir I’ve gotten to know Harry as a thoughtful, intelligent, brave, and truly kind man. Teachers come through various settings and ages. Harry is a Teacher for this age, in my opinion. Looking forward to more from him.
Beautiful and raw memoir and the audio version is excellent!!
This is hard to even listen to. It's written in a feminine, 7th grade English style. And Harry sounds like he is reading something he has never read. I wanted to like it. But the bit about sending a hit on your own dad? I think he is a psycho. I don't think this is normal for someone who has lost their mom, to be this obsessed with her, either.
Brave, genuine and a long time coming.
There is nothing Spare about this man. I took several minutes after it was over, reflecting and taking it all in....and something came to me. What if Harry had been the first born and heir? He would now be king, and the world would be much better for it. The narration was fantastic. His story, in his voice. sharing his truth. I hope this process has brought some much deserved peace to his soul.
Great listen. Many of the situations can resonate with many people, like having a sibling and finding love.
Excellent book… I couldn’t stop listening!
Too much nagging and complaining like the little princess that he is.
Loved it! So glad he was able to speak his truth. His mum would be so proud of him.
Excellent Book!
Couldn’t stop listening to this book. Loved it.
Beautifully written memoir! Illustrates in great detail Harry’s journey to self discovery and overcoming the past. He really showed how a person can evolve, grow and become a better human being, and that it’s really okay to set healthy boundaries from people and institutions that hurt us. Inspirational!
Wow …. Amazing ! Thank you for sharing your story
bore fest
Listening to Harry’s Voice was the Best part… this Book is a must read!
To be honest, I downloaded and listened to this book expecting to mock and ridicule. This book is amazing! It was well written, heartbreaking, and joyous all wrapped in one. It may be one sided, but it is more truthful than anything ever said by the press. I applaud you Harry! Well done!
I thoroughly enjoyed every second of this book.
Harry gave us the skinny of the “Institution” and based on what he has shared, he and Meghan absolutely did the right thing leaving the UK!! Well written and so happy he no longer feels obligated to stay silent. His mother would be extremely proud of Harry speaking his truth, exactly like she did 25+ years ago. BRAVO HARRY!
I think a lot of folks have gotten their knickers in a twist about this book because is destroys the "fairy tale" life of Royalty. Including the "Royal Observers". I thought it was well done, His voice, his truth, his struggles. I can relate in some ways to being a "spare", I was the 5th child. He lost his mother at a very tender age that he was close to. I have a feeling that Harry might have undiagnosed learning issues. He himself says he isn't a good student and struggled to get passing grades. He appears to be happiest when he is in Botswana and the Military. Botswana likely because he is treated like a regular guy, like he was in the military. I got the impression he was rather annoyed that his 'royal' status kept him from being all he could be while he was in the Army. Like his words or not, he has basically torn the veil between them and us. So we can see that, yes, they are born into privilege but with the privilege comes a golden cage.
This was a hard one to get through and I found myself dreading listening to it. I am glad I finished, but I did not enjoy Harry’s narration, which at times made me physically recoil, or the content which was mostly complaining about an incredibly privileged life, albeit one marred by the tragic loss of his mother. I would not recommend this book.
Well written and heart wrenching. No matter how you feel you can’t deny that they revoked their security and the way they left him in the dark when the Queen died was cruel and unfeeling. I wouldn’t want to do anything with a parent who treated me with such disregard. I hope Harry finds peace and happiness in his new home.
So much respect and admiration for you both, thank you for sharing your story with us all!
this is a great story
Good for you Harry! I had no idea what you have had to endure from the paparazzi. Good for you to have the courage to tell "your" story and read your own words. Thank goodness your are the "Spare", it gave you the opportunity to get out and save yourself, Meg, and your children.
What a delightful story of the caliber of Maeve Binchy! it was brought to life by the very clever narration, read with such brilliant and perfect inflection!
I was completely surprised, after all the nonsense in the media, this is an excellent Co-written book. I think it’s much better in audio form, because you get the intent, and from the heart honesty. From the first chapter I knew i would listen to the very end. From all the hoopla on both sides of the pond, I was unsure if I would enjoy this book, I did very much and i am going to listen again. I am a Brit who escaped to California in the 1980’s, I recently spent five years back in the UK, giving end of life care for my elderly parents. I was stunned at the general lack of emotional intelligence, lack of joy, and avoidance of physical expression. I had to practice not smiling too much ! My friendly direct openness was very unwelcome. So on a very small scale, I intimately understand the hostility Meghan has experienced. I cannot imagine what that has felt like in a national level. I am so happy that Harry got out of this suffocating and archaic institution, and is raising his family in here in sunny California.
Amazingly beautiful poignant story and amazing narration. Very well written.Good job Harry, thank you for sharing YOUR truth!
Excellent Read
Very well done! I hope Prince Harry found it cathartic to finally have the opportunity to tell his story.
Whine whine whine.
Traitor. "she" came in and destroyed this family.
