I've always had a thing for cops. I can't explain it. Maybe it's the uniform or the cocky way they swagger around, ready to snap into action at a moment's notice. Whatever the reason, I would feel my temperature soar when a cop would appear. That's the way I always felt at the diner when Brad would walk in.
I worked the graveyard shift at Cory's Diner, so things would be pretty quiet and lonely around midnight. That's when Brad would come in, politely tip his cap and take a seat. "Hey, there, Patsy. I hope your night's going well."
