Unabridged Audiobook
This non-fiction first person narrative provides a detailed look into a certain class of German officers in WWII - cavalry officers from the upper crust of German society - and their experience within Hitler's war machine. The narrative provides deep foundation for why a large group of officers conspired and acted to stage a coup which ultimately failed. The author draws a clear distinction between the professional military officers trying to implement Hitler's unschooled military strategy on the Eastern Front with Russia and the evil, sociopath elements that terrorized and ravaged the conquered territory behind the lines. Valkyrie describes a great evil from the inside and a failed attempt to overthrow it by those who had helped expand and grow in the first place.
