Martin Rees is Astronomer Royal, former president of the Royal Society, fellow (and former master) of Trinity College, Cambridge, and Emeritus Professor of Cosmology and Astrophysics at the University of Cambridge. He sits as a member of the United Kingdom House of Lords.
