Jack Cheng was born in Shanghai, raised in Michigan, and lived in Brooklyn for a decade before settling in Detroit. His debut middle grade novel, See You in the Cosmos, is winner of the Golden Kite Award and the Great Lakes Great Reads Award for Best Middle Grade Fiction. Jack volunteers with 826michigan on in-class writing projects in Detroit public schools and is a 2019 Kresge Artist Fellow.
